Two-time Olympian Nathan Gafuik of Calgary led the Canadian men's gymnastics team with a gold medal on vault and silver on high bar at a World Cup meet in Croatia on Sunday.
Edmonton's Jackson Payne was also in top form, winning bronze on high bar and placing fifth in the eight-man parallel bars final.
Gafuik, the reigning Canadian all around champion, got off to a strong start at the three-day competition, qualifying for three of six event finals, and came close to adding a third medal in Saturday's floor exercise, placing fourth.

Payne's strong performance also bodes well for the rebuilding Canadian team which lost four members of the 2008 Olympic team to retirement.
"Jackson is one of the younger guys we're counting on as we build towards the 2012 Olympics," said Thomson.
