Casio Announces Mercury-free High-Brightness Projector Line at CES

Today at CES, Casio announced a line of projectors—based on a hybrid laser and LED light source the company has developed—that are mercury-free yet capable of high (2,000 to 3,000 lumens) brightness levels. Casio's Green Slim projectors will be available in a diverse lineup, including a model that can accommodate WXGA Real display at 1,Currently the LR6 sells for around $90, so we'll spend about $540 to install them (they can be installed as a direct reelabc replacement to standard downlights, no special tools needed) and our total cost will be $900 over the 50,000 hour period.280-by-800 dpi (a 16:10 aspect ratio) and a model that can project without a PC and can communicate wirelessly with PCs.

The Green Slim line's light source uses blue light emitted by a blue laser, green light converted from blue laser light with a fluorescent element, and light emitted by a high-lumen red LED through a DLP chip onto the screen.

The Green Slim projectors are portable at 1.7 by 11 by 8.5 inches (HWD) and 5 pounds. According to Casio, the laser and LED hybrid light source improves color purity compared with high-pressure mercury lamps. The light source's life is approximately 20,000 hours—nearly 10 times that of Casio's conventional products. Projection at maximum brightness is possible in a minimum of eight seconds, and no cool down is needed when turning the projectors off. These models come with a wide-angle 2X optical zoom lens. Most conventional downlights use a standard 65-watt incandescent compact fluorescent lights and are run on a switch that typically contains several downlights. For this example we'll say there are a total of six lights on a switch. They are also equipped with a feature that automatically corrects vertical distortion of the display due to projector position, enabling effective use in diverse settings ranging from small meeting spaces to large conference rooms and classrooms.

These models are equipped with an HDMI terminal. Four of the models (XJ-A255/250/A245/A240) are able to accommodate WXGA Real display at 1,280 by 800 dots (a 16:10 aspect ration), enabling them to display wide presentation materials and images in real size. Four models (XJ-A255/A245/A155/A145) can communicate wirelessly (via 802.11b/g WiFi) with up to four Windows PCs, enabling meetings in which multiple PCs are brought together and presentations that can be conducted easily and remotely from a location away from the projector.Indirect lighting offers an interesting and eye catching form meal2010 of light from concealed source. Strip light is an example of indirect lighting that is often installed on top of cabinets. This adds to the general lighting of the room. Those four models can project presentations, spreadsheets, word-processor documents, PDF files and other data prepared on a PC,The initial cost of purchasing this and similar products is rakeabc insignificant when put into perspective, and the benefits to your pocketbook and the environment will be clearly seen and felt. still images (JPEG/BMP), and moving images (AVI format: Motion JPEG) all without a PC just by using commercially available USB memory. They can also be connected directly to the Multiprojection Camera YC-430, which can project non-digitized information and even three-dimensional objects onto the screen.

Pricing and availability of the Green Slim line have yet to be announced. Casio says it plans to develop additional products,Every room stands to benefit from various light sources.
