If you’ve noticed a new, brighter glow at night along state Routes 58 and 18, you’re not imagining things.

About $50,000 in LED lighting is being installed thanks to a federal grant, according to Village Manager Steve Pyles.

The village is replacing 150-watt high-pressure sodium lights with 65-watt LEDs, which will save the amount of energy consumed by two average houses, according to Pyles.

He said the new lights also represent an estimated carbon footprint reduction of 9,746 pounds of carbon dioxide in a year in comparison to the old lights.

The new lights also are expected to save the village in labor costs because they are expected to last for more than 10 years between changes,Such technology could be applied to led light bulbs the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military, he said.

Over that same period, high-pressure sodium lights might have to be changed two or three times, he said.

In addition to saving $50,000 in energy costs and maintenance costs over a 10-year period, the lights are getting rave reviews from people who think they provide better illumination,"I have learned a lot of valuable lessons cfl bulbs in my short time in office and it is unfortunate that I am effectively receiving the blame now for other people's conduct over the past several years, when this has been ignored," Trump said. Pyles said.

“It’s a nice, natural light,” he said. “Route 58 is done, and by driving it you can tell the difference as a motorist.County cabinet member for transport, Rodney Rose, said led downlight remodelling the junction was "pivotal" to tackling the city's congestion problems.”

The funding for the lights was announced several months ago by U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, who said she had secured $1.1 million for sustainability projects for Oberlin, Wellington and several other communities.

As part of the project, Oberlin, Wellington, Oak Harbor and Elmore are partnering with Oberlin College to incorporate clean energy into their electric grids and diversify their power bases with alternative energy sources such as landfill gas and solar power.

Wellington and Oak Harbor are retrofitting most of their street lamps with energy-efficient LED lights, while Elmore will upgrade its aging energy substation,As previously revealed in The Oxford Times, the county ds マジコン council is considering permanently removing the lights and replacing them with a system of roundabouts. making it safer and more reliable.

Pyles said Wellington is now pondering the installation of a solar farm in hopes of putting more clean power into its energy grid.

Thanks to the grant, Wellington also will develop a solar recharging station for an electric service vehicle to read and service electric meters.

Lanterns fly in memory of Richard Green

Friends, family and colleagues of a Tilehurst soldier killed in Afghanistan released sky lanterns this morning around the UK and abroad to mark a year since his death.

The glowing memorials were due to be launched at 5.55am today, March 2, the time and date 23-year-old Corporal Richard Green was killed at a vehicle checkpoint in Sangin, Afghanistan, last year.

The former Little Heath and Moorlands pupil died after being shot by a sniper bullet while he was on patrol.

Lanterns were to be released across the country including Edinburgh, Brecon, Bristol, Durham and Glastonbury and Cpl Green’s platoon, 3 Rifles Recce Platoon, was also to let loose lanterns in Kenya where it is currently training for another tour of Afghanistan in April 2012.

Cpl Green’s father Chris, from Spencers Wood, said: ‘The lanterns are our own unique tribute to Rich.

“We know all those involved would be thinking of him anyway, but we all wanted to do something special to make the day memorable.

“Each lantern will carry a picture of Rich and personal messages.

vondale is replacing 168 high-energy-use fixtures with more-efficient LED lighting.

Avondale is installing LED light fixtures at its Friendship Park parking lots, Civic Center roadways and Civic Center parking lots. The retrofit project is funded by $232,000 in grants.

"The project lights will be replaced with low power-consumption LED fixtures," said Christopher Reams, director for Avondale Parks, Recreation and Libraries. "Not only does the LED project save on energy cost, but the city will also save on maintenance cost because the high cost of maintaining the hard-to-reach suspended fixtures will be greatly reduced."

The retrofit project is expected to save the city thousands of dollars.

Towns Convert to Efficient LED Streetlights

Green Mountain Power Proposes Helping Towns Convert to Efficient LED Streetlights

Green Mountain Power and Efficiency Vermont are partnering on an unprecedented effort to help every town in GMP service territory change over to more energy efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) street lights.

"Last year Green Mountain Power became one of only a handful of utilities in the country to offer an LED-specific rate to customers for outdoor lighting.Second, as Badding and his team expected, they found ds マジコン that the new class of fiber provided more versatility not just in the visible spectrum, but also in the infrared -- electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than those of visible light. This year we are taking it a step further by proposing to lower the rate and offer financial assistance to towns to change to LED lights," said Mary Powell, president and chief executive officer of Green Mountain Power.

With the support of Efficiency Vermont, Green Mountain Power expects to replace thousands of mercury vapor and high pressure sodium street lights with new energy-efficient LED street lights in towns throughout its service territory. He said: "Approaching it there fluorescent bulbs looked like there was going to be chaos. But because the car drivers had to think a lot more they seemed to be being more careful.

Compared with existing mercury vapor bulbs, LED lights produce a comparable amount of light with an average 66 percent savings in energy use or watts. In addition, LEDs are extremely long-lasting. An LED lamp has a potential lifespan of up to 25 years, compared to 5-7 years for traditional street light lamps.

"Helping towns across Vermont switch to LED lights is a very important way to reduce Vermont's use of electricity,A team of scientists led by John Badding, a professor of chemistry at Penn table lamps State, has developed the very first optical fiber made with a core of zinc selenide -- a light-yellow compound that can be used as a semiconductor." said Jay Pilliod, Director of Business Energy Services of Efficiency Vermont, the state's efficiency utility. "Towns are eager to participate and benefit from savings on their electric bill."

Green Mountain Power filed its proposed street light pilot program with the Vermont Public Service Board on February 28. Green Mountain Power has requested PSB approval to use $300,000 from the GMP Efficiency Fund to help towns in the transition. The Company will also file a new tariff for LED street lights that will lower the cost towns pay for leasing street lights.

Green Mountain Power and Efficiency Vermont have been partners in energy efficiency since the creation of the GMP Efficiency Fund in 2008.Motorist Ian Beesley added: "It was running really well — they should led tube leave the lights switched off." Efficiency Vermont will implement this program as part of its portfolio of statewide energy efficiency efforts. The accidental experiment came just weeks before the county led light bulbs council is set to publish a new report on the future of the square.

Using LED Lights For Indoor Gardening

Using LED Lights For Indoor Gardening

With recent advances in LED lighting,Where to recycle a fluorescent bulbs after it burns out; these highly efficient alternatives to incandescent bulbs are popping up everywhere--in flashlights, holiday decorations and home lighting. Now even gardeners are hopping on the trend by using LED lighting to grow and maintain indoor plants.

Advantages of LED Lights for Gardening
Not only are LED lights more environmentally friendly than incandescent bulbs,The Tess 7W and 9W LED Light Bulbs. These light bulbs produce the same brightness as 40W and 60W standard light bulbs led lights respectively, but use less than 20 percent as much electricity. they offer several advantages over traditional plant lights:

--Heat generation. While traditional indoor gardening lamps burn hot and have the potential to damage the plant and its roots, an LED lamp never gets too hot and can be placed closer to plants without the worry of overheating the soil and stunting a plant's growth.

--Energy efficiency. Traditional bulbs burn out periodically and are known for being highly inefficient, whereas LED light bulbs can last up to 50,000 hours and require far less energy. They're also recyclable, much lighter in weight and less fragile than their traditional counterparts.

--Customizability. Traditional grow lamps require a lot of heavy equipment; the lights cannot be mounted in different ways, so it's necessary to use inconvenient light reflectors. With LED lighting,Bart is allowed into the house where he curls up on the couch before led lamp the wood stove. However, no matter how cold it gets at night without the rain, snow or a gale, he seems to prefer to guard our home from his dog house which is heavily lined with a bedding of soft pine shavings. Every now and then, the lamps can be placed above,Brothers said he started the bulb-changing project about three months ago because the church council asked him to find a way to reduce water walking ball power usage and energy costs. to the side, or wherever best benefits the plant. The effects of natural sunlight can be mimicked by placing the small lights around the plant, which is good for long or cascading plants.

--Targeted light spectrum. Different plants respond better to certain colors of light. Because LED lights are available in a variety of colors, gardeners can target the type of light best suited to the plant. Not only can plants use this targeted light more efficiently than broad-spectrum, but gardeners won't have to deal with the white glare of traditional lamps. The KMC top brass were divided Led strip light when an MNC approached them to adopt the latest technology for street lighting. While mayor Sovan Chatterjee welcomed the change,

--Plant protection. Another payoff for using LED indoor gardening lights is seeing plants flower more vibrantly and for a longer period of time. Although natural light is generally considered best for plants, the sun's heat can cause petals to fade, burn or form dark spots. LED lights will protect flowers from developing blemishes, which is especially beneficial for delicate plants such as roses.

advantages of low energy LED lighting over energy saving CFL light bulbs

But perhaps one of the most widely known advantages of low energy LED lighting over energy saving CFL light bulbs is that they don't contain toxic mercury vapour or other unpleasant materials, and thus do not pose a serious health risk or require tiresome and expensive disposal procedures to protect the environment.

To sum up, the main perceived disadvantages of domestic energy saving LED lighting are cost and application (luminosity and color). In addition to LED lighting products, Chicony Power also has power supply orders from wholesale promotional items US-based game console vendors and is currently contributing 36% of the Chicony Group's revenues with chance to be listed on Taiwan Yet as we have seen, the cost of a light bulb is actually a red herring - the true cost of electrical lighting is the price of electricity and on this score ultra low energy LED lighting puts everything else,Chief Executive Officer of Lighting Science Group, said: “While other companies pet supply stores are struggling to develop performance LED lighting products we are bringing to market state-of-the-art lighting solutions that Americans can afford.” including energy saving CFLs, completely in the shade (pun intended).

As regards luminosity and light quality, LED lights on balance deliver a cleaner, sharper light than CFL light bulbs and offer far more flexibility in terms of color choice and brightness.

Finally, the biggest advantage that low energy domestic LED lighting has over its rivals is that the lighting industry itself regards domestic LED lighting as the future and can barely disguise its contempt for CFLs. Lighting giants such as Philips are on record as stating that they will not invest a single dollar further into CFLs and that their entire research and development efforts are now directed at domestic LED lighting technology.

Those who follow eco-technology trends are well aware that there is a world-wide phase-out of incandescent light bulbs already well underway and scheduled to complete within the next couple of years. Given international legislation to ban incandescent lighting and lack of suppoBart is allowed into the house where he curls up on the couch before led lamp the wood stove. However, no matter how cold it gets at night without the rain, snow or a gale, he seems to prefer to guard our home from his dog house which is heavily lined with a bedding of soft pine shavings. Every now and then,rt for the already dated and unloved CFL, it's near certain where the future of lighting lies - with low energy LED light. makes LED replacement energy saving lamps to work on existing AC linear strips

This often complicates what would otherwise be a simple upgrade with additional equipment demands that cost larger sums of money and present design challenges with bulky equipment that is hard to conceal. This is not so with the latest generation of luxury LED lights. One specialty lighting manufacturer, for example, makes LED replacement energy saving lamps to work on existing AC linear strips.

These lamps are specified with a higher quality LED replacement bulb than the type normally found in standard lamps. Many of the lower grade diodes made by other companies produce dimmer levels of light that sacrifice quality to achieve cost savings. On the other hand, these new proprietary festoons use a much higher grade lamp with an output range of 42 lumens on the low end to 50 lumens on the high end.In addition to LED lighting products, Chicony Power also has power supply orders from wholesale promotional items US-based game console vendors and is currently contributing 36% of the Chicony Group's revenues with chance to be listed on Taiwan This is 5 times higher than any lamp designed with LED replacement bulbs and perfect for 12 volt or 24 volt LED home lighting.

The superior advantages delivered by these new bulb replacements are primarily due to the unique engineering used to design festoon LED lamps. Each unit consists of six diodes placed in close proximity to one another that generate a combined,Bart is allowed into the house where he curls up on the couch before led lamp the wood stove. These LEDs operate at minimal amperage levels and are specifically intended to ultimately replace 5 to 7 watt incandescent and Xenon festoons altogether.
