He said the new lights also represent an estimated carbon footprint reduction of 9,746 pounds of carbon dioxide in a year in comparison to the old lights.
The new lights also are expected to save the village in labor costs because they are expected to last for more than 10 years between changes,Such technology could be applied to led light bulbs the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military, he said.
